This is the place to check for convention news. Along with the Convention page on http://www.hearingloss.org/, it has all the latest developments as we plan for Convention 2010 in Milwaukee, June 17-20.
I've said it before, I would move to Milwaukee if I could! I absolutely love it there and I know you will too. Lake Michigan is breathtaking and there's so much to do and see.
This convention has it all - first-rate workshops and presenters, an exhibit hall full of the latest technology and services for people with hearing loss, a world-class research symposium on the latest hearing aid research and development, two special workshops for parents and educators of children with hearing loss, an off-site event at the Harley-Davidson Museum, and the Saturday night banquet with a German flair with entertainment provided by Blakapelle-Milwaukee. It all offically kicks off with the Opening Session keynote speaker, Bill Barkeley, who despite having both hearing and vision loss due to Usher Syndrome, will be an inspiration to us all. He has climed Mount Kilimanjaro, and next summer will lead an expedition of students (some with hearing, some with hearing loss) to the Peruvian Amazon.
